A Will for Species Diversity

A testamentary disposition provides vital long-term support for our nature and species protection project work for the benefit of species diversity (biodiversity). In particular, the continuation of our major strategic land purchase projects in Germany and Sicily (Italy) would be inconceivable without testamentary dispositions in favour of the foundation.

In the face of fierce competition with real estate investors, brokers and speculators, we would not have been able to have completed our cost-intensive land purchases so consistently and promptly without testamentary bequests. They have played a vital part in enabling our land acquisitions in Bavaria, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg Western-Pomerania, North Rhine-Westphalia, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia and especially for our migratory bird sanctuary "Pantani Cuba & Longarini" on Sicily.

With your will in our favour, you strengthen our financial negotiating position for the purchase of important land to promote the diversity of endangered wildlife animal species in many places, and especially for the acquisition of vital stopover and feeding areas for our migratory birds along the central bird migration route in Germany and Southern Europe.

The Stiftung Pro Artenvielfalt is exempt from inheritance tax - your legacy will benefit in full the protection of biodiversity and its habitats!

There are two ways to put your "last will and testament" into practice and to make it a success:

The Handwritten Will

A handwritten will must be handwritten by you and signed. It must include the date and place of the drafting of the will. It is particularly important to deposit your will at a location or with a person or institution (notary/law firm) that ensures that your will can be found in the event of your death. The handwritten will saves time and money but incurs the risk of legal inaccuracies that could make your last will open to challenge in the event of a dispute.

The Notarial Will

A will drawn up with a notary and, if possible, also deposited in the same notary's office offers you the highest level of security. A notary or lawyer familiar with inheritance law protects you from formal errors and ensures that everything is 100 % correct. Notary or lawyer's fees, based on the value of the estate, are incurred for comprehensive professional advice.
