The Stiftung Pro Artenvielfalt, established as an autonomous foundation constituted under civil law by act of foundation and charter dated 20 November 2008, was legally recognised by the Detmold Borough administration, District of Lippe, North-Rhine Westphalia with the issuance of the Deed of Foundation dated 26 November 2008 in accordance with § 2, sub-paragraph 2 of the state foundation law, under registration number 439 in the state list of foundations.
The Foundation's statutes, approved by the Detmold Borough administration's foundation authority, District of Lippe, North-Rhine Westphalia (NRW), on 26 November 2008, were updated on 30 November 2018 by resolution of the Board of Trustees. The foundation authority approved the revised Foundation Statutes on 25 March 2019. The statutory purpose remained unchanged.
In order to protect the recognised Foundation, the Foundation's work and its projects, the Foundation's name and the project concept names are registered as word/image trademarks with the German Patent and Trademark Office in Munich and thus have trademark protection.





The work of the Stiftung Pro Artenvielfalt is subject to strict legal regulations including the annual audit of the business accounts and the balance sheet by the Bielefeld City Centre tax office and by the foundation authority.
The Stiftung Pro Artenvielfalt is recognised as serving non-profit purposes by the current exemption notice from the Bielefeld City Centre Tax Office, Tax No. 305/5981/1222, dated 10 July 2025. Donations are tax-deductible.
The Foundation generates the financial means for the implementation of its work in accordance with the statutes, in particular for our challenging species protection projects and the long-term migratory bird protection campaign STOP dem Vogelmord (STOP Bird Slaughter), through monthly donation project information mailings.
In order to effectively continue our charitable work for the protection and preservation of wildlife species, biodiversity and their natural habitats, we are dependent on tax-exempt donations from nature-loving sponsors. Wills (bequests) strengthen our liquidity for the financing of large, comprehensive species protection projects.
Whether 10, 20, 30 or even 50 euros, your donation helps us implement urgent species protection projects in Germany and other European countries.
